As parents and teachers, we all try very hard to have our kids tell us the truth. We know, if they don’t, we simply can’t trust them and that leads to all kinds of trouble.
So, if you are planning to vote for Trump, what will you tell your kids? How can it be accepatable for a man who wants to lead the country to lie about so many things, both big and small. Donald Trump continually lies about things that seem to matter only to his ego like the size of crowds or if the Boy Scout leadership liked a speech to a group of Scouts. And why did he need to falsely claim that he was Michigan’s Man of the Year?
But Trump continues to lie about very serious matters that make it nearly impossible to trust what he says. For example, he said that he deployed the National Guard in Minneapolis during the George Floyd troubles – he did not. He said he finished the border wall – it is still 500 miles short and Mexico hasn’t paid a dime. For five years he lied about Barack Obama’s citizenship. In the first couple of months of Covid, he said it was under control – then a million Americans died. Of course, the biggest and most dangerous lie – he says he won the 2020 presidential election.
Maybe all the technological, economic and social changes taking place around the world are bothering you so much that you are willing to believe Trump’s lie that you live in a declining country. The real facts show that the United States is doing better than any other country in the world. Don’t be gaslighted by those showering you with fear while their actions only benefit the wealthy elites. Don’t diminish your children’s future because you couldn’t muster the will to get the actual facts.
